When asked about the inspiration for my work I am quick to respond that it is deeply rooted in the techniques and often-
zealous trapping of Victorian era Atlantic Salmon fly tying. I look to employ the boisterous colors, patterns, materials and
processes our tying forefathers used but with a modern twist, and with the addition of various metal elements. By
choice, I do not create function-fishing flies. By doing so I am free add meaning, metaphor and sarcasm into my work in
an effort to, not to catch fish, but instead, to make people think.
