I started tying trout flies in my 30’s when first bitten by fly fishing. One day about twelve years ago while browsing a poplar fly tying magazine I noticed an article about Classic Salmon flies and was immediately drawn to how such a beautiful fly could be tied and why. I set out to find any information on how to tie and materials used in tying classic salmon flies, it takes a lot of time and patience, but the pleasure and reward in tying these flies is more than worth it.
The one thing that I have learned is that every fly is a “learning experience”.
